New Employment Law Rights For International Students
Most of the students who plan to study abroad also have a desire to work while they study or even after the course is completed. Different countries have different employment rights for international students and also a special division for part time jobs.
These rights mainly depend on the location of your work and the university you graduated from. Other factors which decide your employment rights are your educational qualifications, work experience and the country of origin.
Let us take a look at all these employment rights which can help you to get a job within no time
Employment Rights For EEA Students: The students who fall in the category of EEA students don’t need any kind of special permission or approval to work in the country. Their existing rights allow them to stay and work in the country on the basis of their educational credentials.
This means that the students are free to take up internships during their course and can work without restrictions after that.
Employment Rights For Non EEA Students: If you are from a non EEA country then you have to deal with legal things like restricted stamps, prohibited stamps and bio-metric resident permits.
The students will need to confirm their identity through BRF which will help them to avail all the public benefits and services provided by the government.
The restricted stamp will allow all the students to work for a period of 10-20 hours per week although they can work full time during their vacations. These all rights depend on the level of their studies and their past academic credentials.
Employment Rights For Students With Tier 4 Visa: All the students having a 4 tier visa are free to work in the country on full time basis only if the duration of their work placement is half the duration of their educational course.
If the students work more than the set limit of 10 to 20 hours then it will lead to the breach of employment rights and may even result in a permanent ban.
You will need a stamp on your visa to avail restricted employment rights which will allow you to work in areas related to public funds, secretariat of state assembly and the courses approved by the state.
All these areas will offer the basic minimum wages with students protection act. Though any illegal activity or breach of any terms or policies will lead to a permanent ban on the stamp.
